Last weekend my friend Jackie came into town from SF and we partied it up with some of her friends and their friends who were in town. I love how people who meet for the first time on Friday night can have such a blast together all weekend long. We checked out the bars at the Ritz, St. Regis, and Intercontinental. We ate at Murphy's, Daddy D'z, Fogo de Chao, and Highland Bakery to name a few. We hiked, rode horses, rode golf carts, went dancing, and met some cool people (and some really not cool people) while we were out and about. We got little sleep and some of us had more than a little too much alcohol to be good company to everyone else in the bar.
This weekend was a lot of eating with friends. I cooked for a friend at my place. We went for drinks at a friend of mine's. I had brunch and supper yesterday out with a friend. I had brunch this morning at some new friends' house. I ate out tonight with a friend. For all the eating I did, I also exercised- a long run, bikram yoga (for the first time), and rugby today. And for the excitement of the weekend, tonight when I got home there was a 1.5 ft long snake on our doorstep that I was inches from stepping on because I was talking on my phone and not really paying attention until out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving down there. How it got on the 2nd floor of our condo unit I don't know.
I'm super thankful for great friends and for relaxation. Also for inspiring and thought provoking conversation. Now I really need to get serious about school work. No matter how I try, I just can't seem to ever be motivated by homework. I used to wonder if anyone is, but I know for a fact that some of my fellow classmates are so my hat is off to them...
