As I reflect over 2014 and look forward to what 2015 might hold, I am humbled. Last year was a "big" year for me. I wrote a thesis, graduated with my masters, completed my journey to become a nurse practitioner, and finished an ironman. There were many other events and moments that made this past year amazing. I remember ringing in the new year last year, knowing that unless something sidelined me, these would be things I'd accomplish.
I don't really know of any upcoming "major" life events for 2015. With this thought, my first inclination generally would be to feel slight disappointment and attempt to come up with a few things to accomplish. But here I am, content to not have any anticipated endeavors to take on. I have no doubt life will present challenges regardless, and I will embrace them at that point. But for now, I'm resolving to take each day at a time, fully present, not rushing ahead in expectation of what's next. Yes, I have desires. No, I'm not giving up my driven nature. I just don't want to lose sight of the fact that each day I'm given is precious and I have an opportunity to honor who I am, find joy, and be a part of others' journey to this end.

Psalm 46:10Amplified Bible (AMP)
10 Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!
